JINGDEZHEN DIARY,Ceramics,Yuxin Liu,Photographed by Soda,2023 |
My experience as an artist-in-residence in Jingdezhen has been profoundly enriching. Though brief, spanning only a month and a half, it provided me with invaluable insights into the refined ceramic manufacturing processes of Jingdezhen. I had the privilege of meeting many talented and fascinating artists during my time there.
The color blocks in this artwork encapsulate stories of laughter and reflect the sights and sounds of Jingdezhen. Each hue tells a tale, drawing inspiration from the vibrant atmosphere of the city. Moreover, the brushes used in creating this piece serve as interactive installations, symbolizing the connections formed with fellow artists and the local community.
Furthermore, the pencil utilized in this artwork holds special significance, as it serves as a tangible link to my experiences studying in Canada. Bringing it back to China from Canada represents a merging of my artistic journey from different corners of the globe, infusing my work with a sense of cross-cultural exploration and personal growth.
